Self Portrait

Born in North Wales and brought up in a small seaside resort town, I first picked up my parents' camera at the age of around seven and haven't  stopped taking pictures since.  At the moment I am an undergraduate studying for a bachelors degree in Wildlife Photography, which has been my chosen career path from around the same time I picked up that camera.  Inspired from an early age by the work of the BBC Natural History Deparment and the work of David Attenborough, both his books and documentaries.  In fact, it was a specific production of his, a film about tiger beatles, that made me fascinated in wildlife photography.  My artistic influences include other photographers like Joel Satore, Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Francesca Woodman to name just a few, and other artists like David Hockney and Salvador Dali have also had a bearing on the work I produce.

I pride myself on the creativity of my work coming before commercial gain and quite simply making something new.  I have a true passion for image making in all its forms and still after all this time, I get a buzz when I create my images.   Much of my work has a strong personal and expressive element to it.
